I co-authored an illustrated children’s book designed to help young patients understand the healing process after fractures. It brings orthopedic concepts into a format that feels accessible, reassuring, and memorable.
Education is one of the main ways I try to make medicine more useful. I’m interested in patient education, mentoring, teaching, and building tools that help people understand health, healing, and clinical decision-making more clearly.

I created a pediatric literacy initiative with Harris Health to improve access to books and other educational materials for children and families during well-child visits.
Through EnMed and related programs, I’ve mentored students on coding, prototyping, project development, personal statements, and navigating the path into medicine and innovation.
I wrote Nontraditional to highlight the stories of people who came to medicine from other careers and backgrounds. It grew out of a question I heard often: can I still pursue medicine after taking a different path? The book was designed to encourage people who might not see themselves reflected in the traditional route and was published on Amazon.
